Thursday 13th September was R U Ok? Day, a national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that any day is the day to ask, “Are you ok?” and support those struggling with life.  Their mantra being “a conversation could change a life” is as simple as it is powerful.

Here at Davidsons along with many other businesses we raise awareness of R U OK? Day by decking out our office with posters and slogans, eat R U OK? Day cookies and take up the challenge of asking our colleagues and friends R U OK?

As this day coincided with our monthly team training we had the opportunity to bring even more awareness about R U OK? Day to the Davidsons team. We learnt, via video, about one man’s passion, Gavin Larkin OAM, the man behind the R U OK? Day movement. Gavin’s story is one of family, love and honour mixed with sadness and grief but it’s hugely inspiring and well worth a look if you get the chance.

During our team training we were also reminded of how important our relationships with our clients are.  Every day we see the very real pressures faced by small business owners and clients. All too often these pressures manifest in anxiety, stress and depression. Our task is to look for signs of stress and encourage clients to seek assistance.

And because we so often meet our clients face to face, we are in a good position to ask the question, R U OK?

On it’s10th National Day of Action, R U OK? says “Every day is R U OK? Day”
