Stephen is a director of our audit and assurance division who works with organisations to meet their compliance requirements with respect to financial reporting and in mitigating risk associated with everyday procedures.
Stephen believes that a there is more to a statutory audit than meeting a client’s compliance requirements and by working closely with management builds his understanding of the underlying business which enables an audit to provide value by making recommendations which mitigate risk and improve internal procedures.
Stephen has experience in a wide range of industry sectors and utilizes his vast experience to not only perform audits but to assist entities with financial reporting and in meeting government lodgement requirements. Stephen has been awarded a number of contracts within the public sector to provide statutory audits and has an extensive portfolio in health and aged care and not for profit entities.
This experience led him to being appointed to the board of Barwon Health for a period of six years where he also chaired the audit committee and was proud to be on the board during a period of significant growth.
Stephen is a Chartered Accountant, a Registered Company Auditor and an approved Self-Managed Superannuation Fund Auditor. He joined Davidsons in 1988 and became a Director three years later.
